Adjustable Telescopic Steel Props
Telescopic props are structural support elements widely used in construction for supporting formwork, excavation bracing, columns and floor slabs.
SOCOME-branded adjustable telescopic props are available in various configurations to meet different shoring requirements on construction sites. The range includes standard props with two end plates, standard props with an end plate and crossbar, and special props.
All props manufactured by SOCOME have been tested by the Politecnico di Milano in accordance with UNI EN 1065 and are made from certified materials under strict quality control.
Standard Props with Two End Plates
Standard telescopic props with two end plates are available in various adjustment ranges to suit different support requirements on construction sites.

- Pay attention to any ground settlement, pipes, uneven supporting surfaces, backfilled areas and slopes.
- Ensure that the prop is positioned perpendicular to the supporting surface.
- Check that the prop is correctly centred beneath the formwork beam (maximum eccentricity: 10 mm).
- Check that the head plates are properly secured to prevent the prop from overturning.
- Ensure that the prop is fully tightened (the threaded collar presses the locking pin upwards).
- Do not use dented or defective components (deformations, rust, damaged locking pins, damaged collars or threads).
- Check that the spacing between axes and supports, extension lengths and prop types comply with the instructions provided by the formwork manufacturer, site foreman and/or works supervisor.
- During installation, bear in mind that the load capacity of the prop decreases significantly as the extension length h increases.
Props must be subjected to regular visual inspections. In particular:
- Use original locking pins only.
- Remove heavily corroded props from service: severe corrosion may cause a reduction of more than 1 mm in the original diameter after the rust has been removed.
- Remove bent or dented props from service.
- Check that the base plates are not deformed, in order to prevent eccentric loads on the prop, which could eliminate its load-bearing reserve and lead to collapse.
- Carefully check the condition of the threaded collars and threads to prevent the risk of slipping in the event of severe wear.
- During transport, secure the props to prevent the inner tube from accidentally sliding out of the outer tube.
To ensure the effective and safe use of the props, the condition of the following components must be checked after each use:
- Outer tube.
- Inner tube.
- Locking pin.
- Adjustment system.
After use, the equipment should be thoroughly cleaned and stored in a covered area, protected from weather conditions.
